By the end of the game, the battle-before-last, you'll control the entire continent and your mana reserves should easily carry all your characters - even the sub-spirits - to at least 20+, capping your favorites and the Awesome Five (Yuuto, Aselia, Esperia, Orpha, Uruka); for the first playthrough at least.

Be sure to toss some ether refineries if you want to get ether faster; they give 500x[level] more for every one you got. I had over 20000 ether flowing in every turn by the end of my aselia playthrough. (Doing Kyouko second, then tokimi...then others.)
PM me for a table of CE addresses for all the spirits in Eien no Aselia. If you don't know what I mean, just be on your way...

That's not right. Level 4 gives 4500/turn, level 3 2500/turn. Level 5 9000/turn. So they get more cost-effective - but only if you have time to spare or expect to run out of mana soon. If you just want ether quickly build level 2.

Well I've been levelling a few blues and greens during my second playthrough, and it does speed up the missions. They can be used for clean up, and for saving skill charges too. I think it's quite useless the first time around though, I found Aselia / Esperia / Yuuto to be pretty much the ultimate "neat and clean" death squad when max-levelled. But don't expect any SS rank with that... (sometimes you just need to go back in a city to regen your skills...)

In case you've been looking at version 1.0 of the guide, I'll quote the updated info:

By moving to Water Dragon's Nest located at northwest of Rakios* before total turn count reaches 50 you can hear a rumor about a dragon at that location. Required to fight it later on.

Gatekeeper Raze can be found in the Water Dragon's Nest, only if you heard the related rumor before the Mission 10: Capture Akirice and before total turn count became 50.

Sub-spirit squads are very useful on the first playthrough.

My teams are:
Aselia/Esteria/Yuuto
Nelie/Halion/Selia
Faren/Nim/Shiah
Orpha

I try to max/almost max the main squad and give a generous amount of mana to the second squad. The second squad usually kills one unit out of three in every enemy squad, Aselia takes care of the other two. Sometimes Yuuto kills things too when I need to banish with Aselia or conserve her skills.
The third squad is basically free since Nim already has a high enough level to survive one or two battles and Shiah can banish at low level. I use them vary sparingly in situations when you just need to deal another 100-200 damage to kill a unit, or soak an enemy skill.
Orpha is for killing things that can't strike back.

What is a good level to start challenging dragons? My team was level 10-13 when GateKeeper Raze massacred the team, on first turn. That and Aselia did less than 1% damage to his HP.

Also, it would be helpful in the guide to mention placement of units, such as in mission 5: leaving a strong unit in Rimoda because in Mission 6, you can bypass all the enemies on the other road into the capital and steamroll over the 2 units guarding the western path into the Berynlyte capital for SS ranks. That an 20 turns to train for that unit.

It would be useful, if the guide mentioned when the placement of units gets tranferred to the next mission. You can mostly guess what is the best placement for the next mission from its name.

As for Mission 6 I was actually quite suprised about it myself. My Aselia was in Rimoda from the end of the fourth mission. It would simply take too many turns to place her where she needed to be for the fifth mission, so I left her in Rimoda and defended with the other teams. Then on the sixth mission all the enemy squads marched on the same city they could not take during the previous mission and I took the capital by suprise from behind. That was hilarious.

Regarding dragons (like the one in Bahtbart), I'd say you need at least 25-26 level average in normal. That also means you're far enough to afford ether jumps near them so you don't waste too many turns. Obviously you can do them a bit earlier (and still they do pack a mean punch and have a lot of hp), but you'll likely lose more time than anything...

Regarding secondary squads, I'm getting more and more suspicious regarding that. I have Nimthor max levelled, and she doesn't tank half as good as Esperia ; she dies on me for no reason all the time, and that's starting to frustrate me

Also regarding the map, would it be possible to add small icons with numbers to indicate when mana crystals / dragons appear and from where they are triggered ? I think it could be done without overburdening the map, and it would add great utility to it !
