Getting Kyouko and Kouin?

For some reason, I cannot get them in my second playthrough. I'm pretty sure I picked all the right choices in the guide, but after I picked the "★I won't let them be sacrificed" option, the "★So, atone for it!" option never showed up. Yuuto does have above 90 mind like the guide said. Did I miss something?

Yuuto must have Mind 90+ after the Duel with Koukin...please confirm that
and if that still won't solve the problem, i don't know either

Yeah one of the problems was that I don't know which "duel" that is, especially since the guide says you don't have to defeat Kyouko/Kouin to get them, or was it a fixed duel earlier? I reloaded all of my previous saves and Yuuto never had less than 90 Mind though...

I remember encountering the "★So, atone for it!" choice while playing Normal mode before, and I did nothing different...

It's the 1 on 1 duel between Kouin and Yuuto right before that scripted fight between Kyouko and Yuuto.
Note that Yuuto mind must be >90 AFTER the fight with Kouin, not when you begin the fight.

Ah, uh, do you know when this fight was? Was it in Mission 13 on the way to capture Slegid or Mission 15: Invade Slegid and dispel the mana barrier? I don't know how far back to restart.

it's the one during the conquest of malorigan.

also, make sure you defeated kyouko on the mission defending ransa (which means you have to advance down the path instead of staying in your base for 20 turns), and choose all the right options.

it's mission 16: capture the capital of malorigan. Have mind above 90 after defeating kouin.

defending ransa is mission 14. Make sure you defeated kyouko.

other than this 2, make sure you selected all the right choices.

And, no, you dont have to defeat Kyouko squad in Mission 14 if you only aim for recruiting them.
Defeating Kyouko squad is a requirement for Kyouko/Tokimi route.

Weird cos when I beat Kouin Yuuto had EXACTLY 90 mind and I still had the choice.
