Hints in defeating Kouin in mission 15 in the first playthrough:

Ok guys, ive been at it for a while, and he'd always run away after atking him twice (2 turns), which is not enough to take him down with 4 sqauds. As his healing has 6 actions, and so i never manage it before time.

I reloaded a save to a point before eliminating the squad that comes before Kouin. This timei tried to move quickly and this is what i did different:

- Completely eliminate Kyouko squad (before her team mates run away)
- Koun must atack you once (and this is good, since it will give you a free chance to let him waste onc action point)
- Must be done before the end of turn 18 (as he will always run away after the end of turn 18)

This is what i did, and it worked. Perhaps you only have 2 atk chances to kill him, this could also be possible. As for the above conditions, i dont know weather they really apply or not, perhaps other people can confirm it too.

EDIT:
BTW guys, the reason you would want to go after Kouin is because of the extra mana you get at the end of the mission. By killing all enemy squads (8 in total), i ended gaining 70400 mana. Thats a dragon or two worth of mana.

We've tried various things but I believe it's theoretically impossible, there's just plain no way to do it, no matter how close you can get .

I don't think you did, since you don't comment anything about surviving his 16 -action start support breaths. Taking out that 99k hp isn't a problem, you can even 1-shot it, ever surviving to attack him is. Well, it may be possible to take him out but it requires the kind of skill our guinea pig didn't have at the end of normal diff.

I'm not sure if you're claiming to just have done this, or just reminiscing of the original game, but...

1) You're claiming to have used 2 supporters in the battle.

I'm guessing you're confusing it for some of the dragons that spawn in ch5 (there are up to 4). All other dragons are beatable.

When it comes to the defend Ransa mission, I can defeat the first Blue Spirit, but I can't survive the Red spirit that follows. She just uses an Apocalypse spell and wipes out 2 or 3 of my guys at once. Anyone have some advice for clearing this stage?

level your blue spirits til one of them has ice banisher Iv to banish it

yuuto's resist I makes a large difference in spell damage taken as well.

black spirits have good resist and modest health. i believe you have uruka for that mission, don't you? her shrouded sword targets the enemy supporter.

I would have to back track a bit to get the mana I need to level. Anyone know who learns ice banisher iv the fastest?


edit: actually, I died before I ever received Uruka. I didn't know she joined up at this stage at some point.

im gonna guess Selia. dont quote me on it though. i seem to recall having to use selia because she was the only blue spirit i had for a long span of time with ice banisher 3
