Yeah like it goes right to the end of the patch-er. And then comes up when it should just say complete... untill i alt+f4 the processing screen after clicking ok to the error. And then it just says "installation complete" lol have no idea wtf its doing. But yeh, the script is transed, but as far as names, menus, and the little title screens and the op (if thats translated). No worksies.

Gah hit a massive wall of kanji

Anyway i could get the patch files without them being in the EXE patcher? so i can just copy them over my game files instead of getting patch error?
Thanks again~

Well, just to keep you guys informed, after the patch finishes installing, both times when i installed the internal one and also when i installed the official one, the system slowed down TERRIBLY, taking 3x the time to open simple windows explorer, or firefox, but rebooting comp fixed the problem. Dont know if it has anything to do with the System.OutOfMemory exception, but could be. Im using a phenom II X4 b35(2.9 ghz), 2 gb ddr3 1066 mhz ram, radeon 4650 512mb and on vista service pack 2, 32 bit, fully updated.

And also found something interesting:
Excessive managed memory usage is commonly caused by:
*
Reading large data sets into memory.
*
Creating excessive cache entries.
*
Uploading or downloading large files.
*
Excessive use of regular expressions or strings while parsing files.
*
Excessive view state.
*
Too much data in session state or too many sessions.

which is the description of that exception i found in MSDN. So its obviously due to the ram issues.

Also Zero, an exception is caused when there is a problem, and is just there to notify that a problem is present. The exception handler for this case just shows a message notifying the kind of exception caused. Just pressing enter or alt+f4 wont actually solve the problem....will just remove the message :P.

Those sound all about right, The data file it edits there is 1gb alone, and includes 24k files. So yeah I guess it's a memory issue, maybe cheese can do something to make it run better on low-memory setups, dno.

I had the same issue on first install. The game ran fine though, but the images were untranslated.

I've ran the setup again later, and it worked. The installer is definitly VERY memory-hungry ; I have 3go RAM, and it was scary watching the patcher's used memory swell in the taskmanager. If you can't get it like I did on second try (I had closed some processes that were running in the background), there is probably a way to increase the cache size available to windows on your harddrive.

Everything looks fine now, no more tzuzukukara, hajimekara, shuuryou in the title menu or other weird kanjis in place of names :p

I have the same problem with the System.OutOfMemory excpetion and unfortunately haven't found any way to bypass it. As Nemo said there is a way to increase your HDD cache size but I'm not too sure about it.... From what I gather from the posts you will get the exception (and partial patch intsalltion due to that) if you don't have at least 3gb RAM. Nemo was the first one to install it without problems (well, almost without problems =p) and he had 3gb RAM while other people reporting the problem had 2gb RAM (including myself). Is there a way to make the patch less memory hungry?

Also, anyone getting thick black borders on the left and top of the game screen (in fullscreen mode)? ones in which you cannot move the mouse into.Or is it just me?T_T
I'm using a regular LCD too(1280 x 1024), not a Wide-Screen one, so......

I heard it may be due to gpu scaling issues, but cant find any options related to scaling in any of the options in CCC(control catalyst center) 10.2, for my radeon 4650..is it because of my old monitor?

Well my scaling in catalyst is here (in advanced mode)
Image

And update on my problem.
Closed everything that wasn't vital in Task Manger, and changed an option to divert focus from programs to cache in Sytem Settings. But all no avail.

Any suggestions would appreciated.

For the time being I'm uploading the data01.gd with translated images as a temporary workaround. It's 670MB even packed at best compression tho, so this will take a while.
