Great. Thanks a lot. Not only you guys spent a lot of time translating but you also help us this way. Can't express my gratitude enough.Phlebas wrote:For the time being I'm uploading the data01.gd with translated images as a temporary workaround. It's 670MB even packed at best compression tho, so this will take a while.

For a reference the graphics compiler part of the installer used 5.2GB of my ram when I just tested it, so I can assume most people don't have enough pure physical memory to run it, after which it becomes an issue on page files and stuff, which then causes trouble on some systems I guess.

Probably wrong Version?
The english patch is not detecting my installation for Aselia...
I installed the Aselia from "聖なるかな -The Spirit of Eternity Sword 2- SPECIAL PACKAGE".
This pops up after forcing the installer to install:

And this is when the english executable is run...

everything else is in Japanese...
Im thinking that I have the wrong game version, so how do we know if we had the "vanilla" version of Eien no Aselia?

What do you mean forcing? Can you elaborate on your original issue? The installer first checks for the installation and then suggests the correct path if it finds it, this doesn't work for all though so you can choose the folder yourself if it's not detected, and then you should point it to the main directory of the game. Are you sure you have made a full installation of the game? You might want to re-install it just to be sure.

Forcing, I meant continuing installation despite Eien not being detected by the installer.
It spouts out that Application Error after "installation", then when it ran aseliacs_english.exe, only the title in the title bar was translated... everything is in Japanese...
And since the installer had warned that the patch wont work with vanilla versions, I was thinking that I have the wrong version of the game...

@lightl
Nah my monitor is set to auto-detect, so it scaled the game to 4:3 on full screen.
That pic was only to help Meowminator

@Zelgadis : have you tried running the en-patch installer again without doing anything else (like copying files or such over) ? The second time could be the good one !
Regarding the installation folder, it couldn't find mine either, but it worked alright with me targetting it manually. It's probably something with the original japanese installer writing with japanese characters in the registry ; many VNs do that, and you have to go there and correct it manually. A .reg file can easily be made also, if that's the problem.

Ok, I just solved my problem...
I've been wondering why my installer isn't going into the "processing" phase Ive seen in other screenshots on this same thread.
Its because of the Application Error....
SO...
If you get this:

It usually means that you dont have .NET FrameWork 3.5 on your system!
P.S.
I know its not the place to say, but good work and thanks for translating this fine game!
Looking forward to any future projects you guys might have!
