Gameplay FAQ / Walkthrough 1.12
Re: Gameplay FAQ / Walkthrough
I think, I just found a mistake in the walkthrough. After mission 11 it tells that the "I'm curious, so I'll go talk to them" appears only if you pick "Sorry, I'll pass today" option early. But now that I try it, no matter what I choose in the conversation with Orpha an event with Faren & Nimnthor comes next and I get an opton to ignore/participate.
Also, I think that "ctrl speeds up battles" shoud be written in big red letters on the first page of the guide. It's too frigging useful to be left for the hotkeys section.

Re: Gameplay FAQ / Walkthrough
Problem regarding water dragon nest.
It says in the walkthrough you have until Mission 10: Capture Akirice to go to the water dragon nest to trigger the rumor.
During mission 7: Capture Kemuseraut and Hiemuna, I went to take a look at the cave. My troops told me "Nothing interesting found, let's move along".
So I took the liberty to rollback to my previous save at Mission 4: Capture Rizario and Rimodoa. Went back to the cave. Same thing happened again. No rumor.
I went there several times in mission 7 (reloading mission 7 again and again) using teams consisting of main characters, or side characters. Then I did the same thing for Mission 4. Both ended with the same result, I could not trigger the rumor. Any explanations?
I have not killed or Sword Released any of my side characters.
*EDITED*
I kept rolling back to figure out what was the limit to the dragon's rumor. The time limit appears to be Mission 4: Capture Rizario and Rimodoa, BEFORE you defeat the first boss. (IE. take over Rizario)
Because in my two saves for Rizario and RImodoa, I loaded the save that had me go to the cave AFTER I defeated Rizario, and then I loaded a save BEFORE I defeated Rizario. The save that went to the cave AFTER I defeated Rizario appears to have exceeded the time limit.
*EDITED SECOND TIME*
I also paid attention to the amount of turns I actually used.
The time limit is not Mission 10. To go to the water dragon's nest. You must reach there before your total spent turns reach 50. I had two saves, one save at turn 49, and one save at turn 51 (I had a troop station outside the dragon nest way before turn 49 and 51, I just kept skipping turns to test the theory)
Or, someone has managed to reach mission 10 before hitting 50 total turns spent. Which is totally not possible on your first playthrough of the game. That would explain the erroneous information regarding reaching the water dragon nest.

Re: Gameplay FAQ / Walkthrough
Hmmm.... Dragon busting is fun and easier than it looks.
BUT, I'm having a problem trying to trigger the appearance of Gatekeeper Garion at Rasheed mountain pass. I' ve already went to Rizario for the rumour... but it still doesn't appear when i go there...
I still can't figure out why....can anyone help me wif this? Is it a 2nd playthrough thing?

From what it looks like, you can only trigger that rumour in mission 16.....so maybe you are not on mission 16 yet?ghost91 wrote:Hmmm.... Dragon busting is fun and easier than it looks.

Napolitan.... Rush!!Re: Gameplay FAQ / Walkthrough
I am getting a nagging feeling going after dragons is going to end up being a bad thing in the end... Should I actively hunt down all the dragons even when the story does not demand it? Mana is delicious but bad ends are not so delicious.
Re: Gameplay FAQ / Walkthrough
I am on mission 16, and visited the place for the rumour...... but still can't get the gatekeeper to appear at rasheed mt pass.
Sad.....
Btw, no real dragons were hurt in the making of the game, same goes for each playthrough. They make games like these so that you WON'T go dragon hunting in real life.
Feel free to slaughter them for mana!

Re: Gameplay FAQ / Walkthrough
I see, but still, should there be a Gatekeeper in the Moutain pass ?Phlebas wrote:He doesn't spawn instantly, you can check the dragons info later on in the guide. That's just a requisite to get him to spawn, he's a bit hidden. The ultimate dragon, that Ajugis.
The guide says "Gatekeeper Garion can be found in the Rasheed Mountain Pass, after hearing the related rumor by moving to Rizario during the Mission 16: Capture the capital of Malorigan."
I've heard the rumor, I'm still in Mission 16, and the cave is absolutely empty. From reading this thread, could it be that I've reached a turn limit ? I haven't been wasting time though...
@Ghost : we seem to have the same problem
I've had the first one in mission 10, Gatekeeper Raze ; haven't killed him though, my squad was around 18 (max level at the time) and he was like 25 two-shotting everybody so... :p

Re: Gameplay FAQ / Walkthrough
If turn limit is the problem....then ive wasted tons of turns just sitting idly converting mana to ether and etc.....
I probably wont be able to fight the dragons then........what else do dragons give besides mana and mind?

Re: Gameplay FAQ / Walkthrough
@ Nemo: Cool, then it isn't just me!... Raze is one of the more tougher, yet not toughest, challenge i've seen so far. Next would be Nestholas. The rest of the dragons I've fought (i'm in mission 20 now, my turns have way past 700....with the absence of garion and ajugis), are seriously cannon fodder.
I literally gave up an entire mission for the dragon hunt, killing all the dragons i could find. 5 consecutive dragon kills is fun!
@Meow: Other than mind and mana, u get a sense of satisfaction when you have tasted dragon mana...
Btw, orpha with Arc flare is OWNAGE...when it reaches her turn, the entire enemy squad dies!!! AT FULL HEALTH!! AWESOME!
