Various character information on skills and orpha's trivia

Post by mechafanboy » Tue Jun 12, 2012 1:25 pm

Heyas, had Eien no Aselia for about a year now, been too busy to replay more than one route(Aselia's) due to workload though. Finally got around to doing more routes and figured I'd use Cheat engine to make my life easier. Found the addresses for everyone's skills and figured I'd do a few posts on them. I figure very little of this is useful information but any information is better than no information :3 Oh another thing to note is that the final storyline related eternal class change has an effect on their skills as well, such as Aura Photon Blade 2 having 3 actions as opposed to 2, this isn't reflected in the data I'm posting because I didn't test the Eternals. Eternal specific skills like Connected Will however are accurate.

Edit:
Moved the laundry list of skills to google documents and added Kyouko/Kouin. Orpha now has her skill names for her attacks listed off to the side of Fire spirits.

Drop a line about how it looks here and I'll see If I can make it look better and/or easier for use whilst maintaining a useful level of information.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... Th0dWRnOFE

Edit 2:Going to just post updates on how the list is coming along here for convenience sake.
+ Removed timing from Attack window as it only has an effect on support skills.
+ Re-added Attribute header(accidental deletion) and focused it on only elemental skills. Thinking of maybe color coding said skills as well as long as it doesn't make everyone blind (Most support skills are elemental, hence I'm worried it will be too colorful if I do it that way.)
+ Added a few notes on Aura Photon Beam I/II and Nova, it seems they are considered different skills.
+ Yuuto's skills learnt at level x done.
+ Finalized Yuuto's skills' bonuses to Attack, tentatively finished elements as well, require more testing on elements...
+ Fixed Yuuto's Resist skill, accidentally had it give Def Up, Atk Down instead of Res Up, Atk Down.
+ After seeing how high some of the bonuses are, contemplating adding a note at the beginning or somewhere to note that the modifiers add to the stats and is not a boost to end damage. (i.e your heaven sword V won't jump from 10000 damage to 22000 damage if you use Passion II, it'll probably be closer to 14000)
+ Updated to include Tokimi/Kouin/Kyouko and a placeholder for Io.
+ Wiki seems to be dated. Inspire gives 50% instead of the 20% listed in it :< Back to the drawing board and slowly checking each skill one by one....

Unrelated to the list, I found out that any attack that procs effects like Defense down count for the initial hit as well. On a somewhat similar note, dropping Defense has no effect if the enemy doesn't have a defense skill, dropping Resist doesn't seem to have an effect either. Dropping Elements on the other hand seems to have an effect but I keep getting conflicting results when I test for resist.

Found a formula for support attacks in an older topic.
Volandum wrote:Support skills are never blocked. They deal damage equal (before modifiers) to half attack squared times skillpower divided by resistance. So a 500% attack caster (Nanaru) hitting a 80% resist foe (some greenspirit) will do 15.625 times skillpower damage - if that's her 3K power Apoc II, you'll be looking at over 45K.
Edit 3: More updates to the file~
+ Completed Blue Spirits I think
+ Completed Yuuto's modifiers and fixed a few typos (No brain, Resist does NOT raise Defense ~_~;, for the record, Holy III is NOT a typo! That's what is shown in my game. I could change it to Holy II, but I guess I may confuse some users?). Don't have a useful save for testing Tokimi and the other Etrangers at the moment.
+ Nelie never learns the Ether Sink series of skills, they're still listed in the format for now because that's how blue spirit learns skills progression wise but I've greyed out the spells. I may consider moving them to the bottom of the support skills list as well in the future but for now, they can stay where they are.
+ Added placeholder modifiers for every Blue spirit skill. ... Next is the fun part of trying to figure out which skill does how much....
+ noted that some of the attributes/stats for ether sink is wrong since Shiah at least doesn't have blue attribute. Will fix once I get the modifiers sorted out.
+ Found that Aselia's Heaven Sword V's overly massive Blue drop... Is amazing. Jumped my supporter's damage from a measly 1500 to a whopping 6570 between the 23% Resist drop and the 200(!?!)% Blue modifier increase. Elemental attacks are still limited to Double damage at the most though :<
+Done with Aselia, working on Nelie's Attacks at the moment. Haven't updated the list as of yet, will probably do that sometime tomorrow, it's rather late where I live.

Amusingly, everyone's Silent Field I/II outright lies. It doesn't give an Attack modifier despite what the game shows you, it merely destroys the enemy's defense modifier (proof? pair a silent field user with anyone, hit someone who has no defensive skills, the damage is exactly the same before and after silent fields I goes off.) Having some trouble narrowing down the range of the defense debuff though, I keep getting between 190-200 damage reduction. Until someone proves me otherwise, 193%(odd as it is...) consistently gets me numbers within 10 points of what the formula should give me.

Heaven Sword's blue modifier debuff seems unable to proc on itself. Try using Nelie's Heaven Sword III onwards, both hits will deal the exact same damage even if the blue debuff should result in higher damage, Silent Field I/II still gives obscene amounts of damage due to the rather insane Blue modifiers. This limits the usefulness of Heaven Sword's Blue debuff though since the only skill to take advantage of it appears to be Ether Sink.

Ran across something potentially interesting whilst testing out elemental debuffs using selia's leap strike. Her second all ele down debuff appears to have half the effect. I guess this means I need to do more testing on how the effects stack and if the other debuffs also work less as you hit more times. Thankfully, most of the blue spirits are unaffected as they usually use Blue down which can only be used by Heaven's Sword or Ether Sink. Both of which can only hit once after a debuff.(Well... Heaven Sword can hit more times but the blue debuff can only be proc'd by Silent Field I/II which only goes off once.) I'm confident that the non elemental debuffs work as per normal though based on Yuuto's results. update Double checked with impulse blow having 40% ele down per hit. It removed 70%(40+40-10) debunking my earlier thoughts (It was 20+20-10 rather than 20+(20/2)) I might need to make a new sheet for notes if I run into anything else strange like this.

I also find myself unable to test Selia's Blue Modifier down on her heaven sword because no one seems to be able to hit Blue damage as support, Aselia's Ether SInk hits before Heaven Sword and Shiah's doesn't have a Blue Modifier.

I'd also like for people to point out any mistakes if they see them, my notes are a bit jumbled since I jotted them all down together, hence a LARGE number of mistakes in the Blue Spirits section(ranging from having a placeholder for Silent Fields to Shiah suddenly having a Blue elemental Ether Sink and having a sIlent Fields that does something.)

Working on Red spirits now. Getting the modifiers at the moment. Have yet to update the list, will do it in around 10 hours probably? being a bum about writing everything down....

Son of a! D: I believe all resist down effects actually have a hard cap of not being to reduce Resist below 50 points. o...O; That's bad when my primary testing target was a 73 resist green spirit! :< I have Orpha's Fire Enchant I at 20% (leaving the enemy with 53% resist) and all the other Fire Enchant Two through Four giving me Resist less 23% (leaving it with 50% resist >_<;) Bah! That means I need to find a new manipulable target... >_<;

Also, Aselia's Heaven Sword IV and V have it removing 23% resist each. ... /froths at mouth :<

I'm also a bit worried that Def may have a hard cap too :< Would explain why so many numbers I have peg Def down from things like Silent Field I/II at -190 to -210 between multiple tests.... bah!

May need to postpone further testing until I get to Super Hard mode and the relatively higher stats. Unless I can run into enemies with about ~= 500% on every stat, I suppose I can't be 100% sure of the modifiers... I'll just rewrite everything into the proper format and toss it up on the document with placeholders for the modifiers I'm not 100% sure on. I can provide the levels everything is learned at least, found the addresses I need for that.

Next up breakdown of skills by character. Some of this might be a little bit off because I collected the data quite haphazardly but as a whole, most of it should be accurate. The skills are listed, version type, attack level, effect on mind and requirements, actions, power, maximum uses, target, additional effects. For the Eternal skills like Connected Will, there are 3 versions of the skills for each of the three modes, level 8 for normal, level 12 for hard, level 16 for super hard. Note that when I post the data, there will be some raised eyebrows because skills they don't normally learn like Nim and Earth's prayer will be listed, this is because there is some data programmed for it but the power rating is - or 0 so it does nothing even if it's cast in battle.

Orpha's trivia
Not entirely sure why I noted these down. They're not verbatim because I didn't even know why I bothered and this was more for private use but hey, why not.

The place where we live is called first quarters and where the other spirits live is called second quarters
Aselia is really handy, she's good at maintaining her sword and she makes accessories for Orpha
Esperia dozes off a lot, once she even doze off tending the flower beds
Dragons have been around forever, back then you could even go to the other end of dragon's claw
Umm.. Guys and girls are different, Kaori got surprised when I noticed she didn't have that difference…
This isn't the first time the 4 swords were used.
Orpha can sense power levels and Uruka's power level is different from everyone else.
Orpha has strange dreams sometimes, she fights alongside wisdom but she loses and wakes up.
Holy Yoto Kingdom is named after it's prince, Prince Yoto II Rodzaria who came beyond the Dragon's claws from Hyperia allegedly
Phantasmagoria isn't the only world, there are many connected by gates.
Nelia, Shiah,Halion,Nim and Orpha want to go beyond the Dragon's claws one day
Law eternals gather mana in their swords and asplode world to make mana easier to gather. Selfish bastards!
The Chaos Eternals leader is Rogas of Fate, we're really weak compared to him even if we have the same ranked sword.
Tokimi actually has a second Eternal sword called Finality back in Japan.
Orpha wanted everyone to come with us ;-; they all love papa, orpha is also super sad this is the last trivia….

Edit: Moved Yuuto's stuff to Google doc. Orpha's Trivia can stay up until I get the will power to directly requote her stuff in here or google docs.

I need to get through Hard mode and get the relevant Trainers on super hard before I can really test when they learn skills. Seeing as how I've found the level integer for each character, it shouldn't be too much of an issue to check when they learn stuff once I reach there though (Aside from the boredom of leveling from 1-99....) On the upside, I do like how that spreadsheet is formatted and I'll try and reproduce something similar since that spreadsheet seems to be locked?

Currently I'm messing around with the various effects things like inspire have on the actual damage. Hopefully I'll be able to get some usable data soon-ish which gives you a bit more insight on which skills to keep particularly in the case of Yuuto who has a HUGE number of support options and only 3 slots.(one of which is probably taken up by some variant of Aura Photon Beam.)

I'd also like to transcribe Orpha's Trivia properly since my short notes are well.. short.

Anyways, all that is upcoming. Hopefully I'll push out more data in the next few days. Already started on a google doc but I want a reasonable amount of information in it before I release it.

Edit: I also didn't realize this before but I completely forgot about Io. I have absolutely nothing on her at the moment and likely won't for an extended period of time ^^; Might have to wait a fair bit longer for her unfortunately. Kyouko and Kouin are accounted for though, I have a save with them and their relevant skill sets set up.

Edit 2: After looking at it for a bit, I think I'll be doing something a bit different, most skills have set attack phases, targets and mind values for usage, I think I'll just note down where it's different (i.e Frenzy's max mind being 30 as opposed to the normal 100). It makes planning a whole lot easier I feel instead of being inundated with the same information on most skills. The columns will still exist like in that spread sheet though, since it's better than making it all additional effects.

Edit 3: Releasing a rough draft kinda thing. Want thoughts on whether it looks fugly, etc. I'll probably stick to working on it alone since I'm one of THOSE kind of people though.
- I'll be sticking with breaking each set of spirits into separate "classes" based on colour for spirits(sans Io) and lumping everyone else together.
- Pondering whether I should change the defense's additional effect with something like "Counter?" since that is the only effect that Defense has.
- Likewise I can't recall if there are any skills that have a max mind requirement, I'll fix it if I add the rest of the data and nothing happens.
- The support list as it is may end up looking really long (particularly for stuff that have too many effects, Yuuto's Eternal and it's laundry list of effects for example. Considering pushing Support skills below Attacking skills and using multiple lines for it's additional effects. Unsure whether it will look good or not though....
-I'll try to have the skills from level 1-50(still early on in hard mode ^^; being a bum about getting through it.) or so up within the next 24 hours along with rough drafts of everyone else. I'm currently still trying to find an easily abused enemy with 2 uses of her defensive skill so I can test out Eternal properly at the moment.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... Th0dWRnOFE

Edit 4, the never ending post....
Considering limiting attributes only to attacks/support skills that use elements since having none in every row is distracting. Every attack that isn't highlighted uses only the normal attack formula anyway and there is no "elemental triangle" system where say blue spirits deal more damage to red spirits so elemental damage is limited to "Is it an elemental attack? and if so, use res/elemental modifiers as well."

Found where the element type is listed for the relevant Etrangers. Apparently i'm half blind. Updated my notes accordingly.

Aight this one deserves it's own post methinks.

I'm done collecting data on when 3 sets of characters gain skills but I kinda slipped into getting the data from a wiki partway through because it's really really really REALLLYYYYYYY mind numbing leveling spirits from 1-99 to make sure they gain the skills when they do so some of the data may be wrong. Do inform me if you know of any mistakes.

I can't go any further with testing the modifiers unless someone can provide a save file that's reasonably far into Super Hard (alt: I actually get done with Hard mode. Which may take a while. Getting kinda burnt out on the game xD; Too much testing.)

I really really REALLY need a break from the game for a few days so I can recollect my thoughts and work on finishing more routes.

All this leads up to the spreadsheet going to be stagnant for while. A week at the most. I'll make sure to come back to it but for now. I really need the break @@; Now If you'll excuse me, I need to go play something else or relax or somethi,g @@;

orite, if anyone knows the starting level of each character, that would be helpful as well, I know Yuuto starts at 1, Tokimi starts at 35, Kouin at 24 and Kyouko at 20 definately. If anyone else could fill in the blanks, that lets me determine who starts with what skills so I can use initial for those skills and move the unused skills to the bottom of the list and change the background since a normal player will never see those skills. Ty ty.

Got Super Hard unlocked. Should start getting more information up soonish. Particularly since I'm planning on messing with levels/stats in addition to just skills to make things easier to check.

Also going to get Io this round (finally! xD;) so I should be able to get her skills up soonish.

I hope you'll try to include the whitespirit Io's skills too. She' only becomes playable near the end of Lesteena's route. I personally still haven't done Lesteena's route, so I never got a chance to use Io, who is supposed to be hax and really strong in super hard mode.

Already got a save with her at the moment. (On a tangent, I'm really digging the Lesteena route <3 Second favorite route behind Uruka at the moment and that's no mean feat considering Uruka nearly made me cry, twice.)

She really only has 4 skills though (and 2 defensive skills which I believe can't be accessed without haxing the game :P) and like 8 variations of each xD;

Edit: Figured out why she could be hax.

One of her support disables the enemy defender's actions (like Halion's Elemental Blast) but it's AB. Pair her up with a strong attacker and lulz ensues. Not sure about Super Hard but her paired up with Aselia's Heaven Sword V on Hard difficulty one shotted the final boss. Add in 3 uses on level 60 (which is the level she came at for me, I assume it changes depending on the mode.) and you have potentially 3 free turns of Attacking damage.

Potentially enough to take on Guardian Ajudis at level 30 maybe? ... I should try and pair her up with level 30 Eternal Yuuto on Normal mode and seeing how much damage they can do. Too bad you can't get Eternal Esperia and Io together... that should be enough on any mode.

Her main offensive skill is % based and hits every enemy which is pretty neat, doesn't seem that broken though.

Really needs a good partner to be broken but against single target bosses(Y hello thar every eternal on the final map) she's basically god mode.

Finally got Kyouko back after finishing her route, seems her stats don't carry over if you level her as an eternal.

Not a big loss(thankfully I didn't waste that much mana/ether) but surprising...
