Tutorial and reccomendations for BGM replacer.

Post by Meowminator » Tue Mar 30, 2010 6:01 pm

For those who are bored of the game's normal bgms, or dont like certain umineko bgms.....the dakkodango staff has been graceful enough to provide us with an alternative to implement our own custom soundtrack as of such. However this does involve converting your favourite mp3s into .ogg(OGG vorbis format)....so i decided to make this thread to help those having trouble doing just that.

1.Firstly, get the bgm replacer tool, and extract it into the folder you have installed aselia in.

2.Get something like CDEX (http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/?q=download), a nice open source software (and thus malware free), install it.

3.Go into its settings and choose ogg vorbis dll encoder, from the encoder menu, then choose Convert>Re encode audio compressed files and choose the folder and mp3s you want to convert.

4. Check the "compatiblity files" folder inside your cdex folder and then the my music folder inside it. Therein lies your converted music files.

5. Go into into aselia's folder where you extracted the bgm replacer tool and inside the BGM directory, choose which music you want changed. The game doesnt always use set music though, so you might want to experiment with that.
Just a heads up, The first strategy battle field tune (out of 2)is no.00008, the normal battle tune is no.19, the upbeat normal battle tune is no.1, the opening menu is no.0, normal boss/continuation battle tune is no.2. (didnt bother with the rest, but you might want to)

6.Just replace the files in the bgm folder with the ones you want (after renaming of course), run the bgm replacer tool once and enjoy!

Might I suggest the Valkyrie Profile-Lenneth (A famous tri ace rpg) OST? http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UU3B00D2
it fits the battles very well, and would readily appeal to the fans of the series!

This isn't a recommendation as much as a tutorial.

Good job.
PM me for a table of CE addresses for all the spirits in Eien no Aselia. If you don't know what I mean, just be on your way...

:!: *** UPDATED *** :!:
...and whoever can possibly be interested in my version of soundtrack:

 >> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7UCM9WFO << [v.2b]

It's not loud or aggressive, it's for my mood. I left some original music that was not annoying for my ears.
I replaced many tracks and they are from different sources including: Cabal, Armored Princess, Nanoha, Shana, Zero no Tsukaima, Seto no Hanayome, Resident Evil, Crysis, Angels and Demons, Sword 2.

Of course you have to play the game normally without fast skippings to hear most of them.

PEACE!
And make sure you have John Cusack as your driver.
