Startup Error

Post by Delusion » Sun Apr 12, 2009 2:21 am

Alright so I've been able to install my game and the patch, but when I try to play it ends up with this error:

Right, I see your video card isn't listed. Judging by the rest of the setup, if you have one, it's clearly too old/powerless/incompatible and causing the problem :(. What video card do you have? Is Ati Mobility Radeon 9000 32Mb correct?

I think it should run with that, technical support isn't really my area of expertise though. Have you tried updating your video card drivers?

First off, Laptop, or Tower? Also, your video card is onboard right? Secondly There is an alternative to getting it to run, but that will put serious stress on your graphics card, either onboard or chip. I suggest buying a NVIDIA GeForce 7200 or higher, with 256mb+. For most games that card will suffice, unless your going for heavy duty games. If you want to try boosting your graphics card you could fry it, or damage it. If its onboard that isn't wise.

I don't really want to run any games stronger than this one, and if it's possible I'd rather not spend my money; I have two of these free laptops so I'm not especially worried about it frying. Yes, it's a laptop. and I don't know if I have the latest driver. where can I find it?

You could try ATI's site, or also found this direct download on quick google, http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHI ... 0-41.shtml

that link sends me to a program I have to pay for though. You shouldn't have to pay to update a driver.

I'm not sure what you're doing, click on "download" and then "external mirror" and it'll start download. No idea if that driver's any good though ^^.

I tried your download, but it said it "couldn't find the components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration. Pleas make sure you have the required hardware or software."

I also tried to install a different driver, but it says "INF error. can't find my video driver?" could that be the problem?
