v1.1 Bug/Misspelling/Grammar Mistake Report Thread

Report all errors in the v1.1 release of the Tears to Tiara English patch here. Please read through the thread before posting to avoid re-reporting an error.

COMMON ISSUES:

I can't save the game.
You're probably running on Vista, and the game doesn't have the rights to create the files. Try running the game with admin privileges.

The game text is all blurry/gibberish.
You may have installed the Chinese fan translation patch of Tears to Tiara, which replaces vital game files that the English patch needs. Try reinstalling Tears to Tiara and reapplying the English patch, without applying any other patches.

Good day sire, I'm having this bug after trying to load a .sav file in tears of tiara 1.1.... this is the screenshot on it (I've uploaded this to photobucket :) ) any solutions for this? All I can say is maybe the .sav file is from either another version of tears to tiara or it's the japanese version. no?

I have taken the liberty to upload the .sav file too! (to anyone who wants to dl this .sav file i don't mind.. but i doubt it'll work smoothly with English ver. of Tears to Tiara tho, since it's played in the japanese game..) here's the link

I checked it out, the save's from a game started in Japanese version. The message you get is likely caused by your character names being in Japanese, which happens if you play a Japanese save in English version, since those names are assigned when the characters join you. Only solution to it is playing in English from start (you can play an English save in Japanese without issues tho).

This is probably gonna sound stupid on my part, but what do you mean by admin privileges? I'm running off of Vista, and computers aren't my strong point, so I assumed you meant logging in as the administrator which didn't work for me. I still can't save.

Hmm I got a text bug about the size of text box. (Similar to Kuzumi's one)
However I haven't used any saves, just starting form the beginning.

The interesting thing is that if the characters say things that just contain one "piece" of text, (I will give you an example later) there will be no bug, else it would get bugged and pop that "Text is too long to fit in the box " error, and It keeps repeating "I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile".

Example: At start difficulty level descriptions showed prefectly but then to Riannon's speaking:
1st box: "Take care." (Just one piece of text so no bug)
2nd box:"I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile."( one piece of text)
3rd box:"I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile. I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile. I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile."
(It keeps repeating if there is more than one sentence, and I don't know why this sentence.)( "Text is too long to fit in the box " pops up randomly")
4th box:"With this,everything will be fine right?"
5th box:"I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile. I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile."
6th box" I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile. I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile."
...( "Text is too long to fit in the box " pops up randomly")

And even later to High Priest Drwc, he said:
1st box:(1st sentence appear) "I am the High Priest of the Holy Empire. Drwc! (Then the 2nd sentence and the funny part) "I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile. I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile."
2nd box:"Anyone who objects, come forward at once!" (2nd sentence appeared)
"I sent all of the villagers off with my best smile."

xD It looks fun but I can't understand the story this way. Could someone tell me how to fix it?

BTW I am using a XP machine with service pack 3.

1) right click on Tears to Tiara exe file (TtT English.exe) > propertise
2) under "compatibilty" tab, select "Run this program as an administrator"
3) OK
you should be able to save files now~ good luck

Question is, did you install with Japanese locale? If not, try that. Compare the text on top of the 'about' screen, not the version number.
The screenshot I posted was running the japanese version without using Applocale to launch it.
Anyway I found out the way to launch the game prefectly with the english translation patch now. Thanks for your advise as I found the clue among your words (Applocale is key word).

The main problem was that I always launched the english patched game with the shortcut installed by the translation pack.

Now I run it with Applocale set to japanese language and run TtT english and it WORKS PREFECTLY. Finally I can read all the text normally, and thanks for the good translation xD.
(The key to make the text fit into the box is to treat those english as japanese, and that's how Applocale did the trick, at least it works for me for the "Text is too long to fit in the box " bug)

formula:Install game->apply english patch->don't use that shortcut installed by english patch but use Applocale with japanese to launch it

Case closed xD
Thanks again

EDIT by Phlebas: Good stuff. I cleared the redundant posts to clean up the thread.

Cheers for awesome work localizing game! I was just wondering if it's ok to install v1.1 either on top of official v1.01 patch from Leaf or before?
Changes (Google translate)

· RADEON 8500/9000/9100/9200 video card you use, Fixed some texture garbled.
- More than 18 skills and learn magic and Fixed scroll bar is coming out that is not available.
- Panel arrangement at the sortie, change the color of the panel is right focus Change to viewing.
- Others, such as balancing the game.
From patch notes it doesn't sound like there might be any new text that could cause problems but wasn't sure. I didn't see anything in FAQ.
