scene 28060 - got the "text too long" error and also the scene is in japanese (its a special scene when you enter weapon shop)
EDIT by Phlebas - Yeah those are fixed now but not in current build, the last secret shop scenes were untranslated and had managed to escape our radar because you get the shop so rarely.

Re: Beta v0.9 Error Report Thread
First, several comments on some of the... strange... corrections made earlier:
EDIT by Phlebas - no worries, "Resolved" is an umbrella term for when we're too lazy to comment on everything
... anyway, onwards:
Scene #607
"Long ago, they make the castle walls out of rammed earth as a fortification. They're layered on level after level like the growth rings on an old tree."
"Long ago, they made the castle walls out of rammed earth as a fortification. They're layered on level after level like the growth rings on an old tree." (Wrong tense)
EDIT by Phlebas - resolved
Scene #614
"First, there was an age of gold. It was a glorious age, but time passed... All the gold melted away..."
"First, there was an Age of Gold. It was a glorious age, but time passed... All the gold melted away..." (Capitalization; I assume this was fixed after the same thing was caught in Scene #110, but just in case...)
EDIT by Phlebas - as stated, the Ages are fixed throughout the script already
"Then, an age of silver began. It also flourished, but... Before long, the silver disappeared to the bottom of the sea..."
"Then, an Age of Silver began. It also flourished, but... Before long, the silver disappeared to the bottom of the sea..." (Capitalization; I assume this was fixed after the same thing was caught in Scene #110, but just in case...)

"An Age of Bronze was the next to arrive. This was also a splendid era, but... In the end, the bronze rusted away under the weight of time..." (Capitalization; I assume this was fixed after the same thing was caught in Scene #110, but just in case...)

"And now, the Age of Iron has begun. But, this age too, will soon..." (Capitalization; I assume this was fixed after the same thing was caught in Scene #110, but just in case...)
"Everyone in the castle! I have an important announcement to make! We're abandoning the Eastern swamp and the old Northern town!"
"Everyone in the castle! I have an important announcement to make! We're abandoning the eastern swamp / Eastern Swamp and the old northern town / Old Northern Town!" (if they're proper nouns, all of the words should be capitalized; if not, none of the words should be capitalized... I think)
EDIT by Phlebas - resolved
Scene #633:
"It seems you finally understand... Human."

EDIT by Phlebas - resolved
Scene #634:
"Yes, sir!" (x2)
"Yes, Sir!" (Capitalization; frankly, I prefer it without capitalization, but it has been capitalized in past occurrences... so keep it consistent)
EDIT by Phlebas - it's been mostly without caps, went thru the whole script now to make "sir" consistent
Scene #641:
"When the Demon King's army attacked, they set a fire upon our beautiful Londinium, and started a riot. It is quite a problematic situation for me as the Mayor too."
"When the Demon King's army attacked, they set a fire upon our beautiful Londinium, and started a riot. It is quite a problematic situation for me as the mayor too." (Unnecessary capitalization, unless all other instances of "mayor" are also capitalized when used as a reference to the mayor of Londinium)
EDIT by Phlebas that was a bit tricky, but went thru the script and capitalized Mayor when it's used in stead of name, and when it's used as a title ("Mayor of Londinium"), otherwise lowercased
"Yes, of course. I believe that you will be able to win, hence I have proposed this plan... Ah! Could it be, you are not confident in yourselves?"
"Yes, of course. I believe that you will be able to win, hence I have proposed this plan... Ah! Could it be, you are not confident in yourself?" (If he's just addressing Arthur, as the exchange seems to imply, it should be singular... the situation is probably clearer in the original script, since there's a difference between singular and plural "you")
EDIT by Phlebas - resolved
Scene #675:
"Somehow... I felt that the tone of your harp... was melancholy..."
"Somehow... I felt that the tone of your harp... was melancholic..." (Incorrect form of melancholy to modify a noun)

"Now, Regius... Little King. Will you accept this judgment or not?"
"Little King" wasn't capitalized before this scene (seen in Gaius's parting words) and later during this scene (by Arthur) as well. So consistency-wise, this occurrence shouldn't be capitalized as well... or capitalize all of the other occurrences.
***EDIT by Phlebas -'Little King' as well as 'Great King' fixed up in the whole script
Isn't the original sentence correct? "Rats" is being used as a euphemism for Arawn's party, which has been raiding the outposts for foods (like rats).hinorashi004 wrote:Scene 0572:

Does reversing the order make a difference? The original placement of "really" worked, since the emphasis is still on the confirmation of the state of being in good shape (due to the uncertainty of the party after seeing the derelict upper levels)...hinorashi004 wrote:Scene 0551

Re: Beta v0.9 Error Report Thread
In scene #2505, Arawn says:
It's too late to say no now.
The s in It's seems to be further away then with all the other contractions I have seen in the game. I think there is a space between the apostrophe and the letter s.
EDIT by Phlebas - it was a wrong kind of apostrophe, gj spotting
In scene #0390, Arawn says:
This is the best method for ridding the area around Avalon of the Imperial Army.
In this sentence Imperial Army is capitalized, but in the sentence before this one Imperial Army is not capitalized.
I know that a lot of the names were fixed especially with the different kinds of elves, I just wasn't sure if this was one of the names fixed so I thought I should mention it just to be safe.
EDIT by Phlebas - fixed 'Imperial Army' in whole script
In scene #0392, Arawn says:
He's a slavedriver as usual.
Slave driver is two words not one.
EDIT by Phlebas - resolved
In scene #2503, Arawn thinks:
I took the tableware given to me by Limwris and dried off the moisture. By repeating this simple chore for what seemed like forever, it felt like I might able to achieve a state of non-attachment.
It should be:
I took the tableware given to me by Limwris and dried off the moisture. By repeating this simple chore for what seemed like forever, it felt like I might be able to achieve a state of non-attachment.

Re: Beta v0.9 Error Report Thread
Scene #0100 Rianna says:
"However......
I came to a realization.
That those jewel-like times would soon enough be over."
Just a bit of nitpicking at the punctuation here, but replacing the period after realization with a comma would probably make reading flow a bit more easily and sound less choppy. You could even go so far as to drop it altogether, actually.
"However......
I came to a realization
that those jewel-like times would soon enough be over."
A bit later than that,
"Learning that so young, I became frightened and never confided in anyone, always crying alone. But then, the one encouraging me, energizing me, and shining unchangingly on me was Akaboshi-sama."
Now this portion's a little awkward to read at first because there's such a sudden tense change here. Learning specifically should be tweaked a little. Also, this is probably just me but starting a sentence with 'but' seems a bit odd.
"I learned that so early, and became frightened and never confided in anyone, always crying alone. Yet the one encouraging me, energizing me, and shining unchangingly on me was Akaboshi-sama."
Well it still sounds awkward, actually. Heheh.
Scene #0100 Rianna again:
"Grant me the determination to surmount this danger... ...
Grant me the courage to do it, no matter what happens, without fear or panic."
'Panic' seems a bit redundant, or rather putting 'fear' before 'panic' since panic is essentially a stronger word for fear. Mind you, I don't know anything about the literal meaning of the sentence in Japanese, but if the quality of being unable to act is needed more from panic then I'd suggest replacing the word with hesitation or something stronger.
EDIT by Phlebas - resolved
Scene #0100 Drwc this time:
"Anyone who objects, come forward at once!
We'll let swords and force decide everything!"
This one doesn't even seem like it needs anything, I just think changing 'swords' to 'blade' would agree more with the word 'force'.
"Anyone who objects, come forward at once!
We'll let blade and force decide everything!"
EDIT by Phlebas - resolved
Scene #0100
A bit after that Drwc says:
"Everyone left in the dark, before dawn?"
'Everyone' is shaky, since it implies some familiarity Drwc would feel towards the villagers. Seeing as how this is assumably his first time in the village it should probably be changed around a bit.
"They all left in the dark, before dawn?"

Scene #0100 Drwc(again):
"I'll ask you once more. Where are the rest of the villagers?"
Sounds like a colon would have more effect on the question, and place a bit more emphasis on it as well.

Scene #0110 Arawn
"Something hit my head really hard and I let out a cry.
As I felt the pain, I realized what I'd been dealing with until now."
The diction here seems a bit sketchy. Unless the original Japanese uses a basic verb for hitting his head, it might be better to use something like,
"Something struck against my head really hard"
Also, it's probably just me but 'really hard' seems weird as well.
