but there are no use for any love points above 40 for those 3 as this is the requirement for their route.

The lover point total only goes up correct? Like they don't decrease or anything?
I was doing Esperia route and I did notice her portrait changed but later on another mission I noticed that the portrait went back to the face with tension. Also on Mission 14 I ended up triggering Uruka route instead of Esperia's. Any help on this would be grateful, thank you.

Ya, the only thing I can think of was that it was due to the trainer I was trying out.

Oddly I myself have never noticed a difference in pictures. Only time I DID notice a difference was Aselia path after the "incident" (keeping vague to avoid spoilers).
